General Information

We ride on Fridays every 2 weeks from April to October inc. (weather permitting). Routes vary but generally include a mix of road types and locations and during the season will cover an area including Southern Scotland, Northumberland, County Durham, Yorkshire, Lancashire and of course Cumbria. Generally a ride will be between 120 to 160 miles with normally three stops for comfort breaks, coffee, lunch and teas. Other ad-hoc rides may take place if individuals wish to advertise to the group that they are off for a play somewhere.

We also had an “awayday” last year to Dumbarton – two nights to allow some riding in an area too far away to ride from our local patch, in this case the Trossachs and Perthshire. A similar outing may be arranged again in 2025 with a different venue.

Our riding is fairly leisurely on quiet roads preferably, avoiding motorways and major A roads and no offroad. Generally the intention is to explore the areas and have time to chat during the breaks. Any biker is welcome regardless of machines ridden but we cannot accommodate learners.

Communication is via WhatsApp and emails and members are required to give their consent to their contact details being shared amongst the group. We also encourage riders to volunteer to lead a ride or two during the season to share the burden of planning.

We will be arranging a pre-season meet during January to finalise arrangements for  2025, so if you think this is for you, contact the group convenor, Kevin Lodge, on 07914679507.
