Next Geology Meeting at Tirril Village Hall 29/10/24 at 10am

Dear all

For the next session, I'm going to start a few talks looking at the fundamentals of geology including: earth composition, plate tectonics, what the earth has looked like through time, stratigraphy, different rock types and how they are formed, structural geology including faults and folds, mineral deposits, mining and the importance of metals, markets, and a little bit on mineral economics.

Moving into next year, I will start to look at the local geology, structure and mineralisation and how it reflects in the countryside with a view to hopefully a field visit or two later next year.
